We want to alert the community about a recent surge in fake warrant scams. These scams aim to deceive you into handing over your hard-earned money.

How the Scam Works
Scammers pose as law enforcement, claiming you’ve missed a court date and must pay immediately to avoid arrest. They may demand payment via cash, cryptocurrency, or gift cards, using high-pressure tactics to make you act fast.

Victims have lost significant sums, with scammers providing fake badge or case numbers to appear credible. But remember, no legitimate law enforcement agency will ever ask for payment over the phone.

Protect Yourself:

• Verify the Caller: Hang up and call your local law enforcement using a trusted number.
• Never Send Money: Real agencies won’t request payment via phone or gift cards.
• Check for Official Notices: Warrants are served in person or via mail, not by phone.
• Be Skeptical: Scammers use urgency to push you into quick decisions. Take your time.
• Protect Your Info: Don’t share personal details over the phone unless you initiated the call.
